Party time at Intimo
Around 50 business people enjoyed an End of term Bash at Intimo Italian Restaurant, High Street, Maldon on Friday 22nd July. The occasion was the last meeting of the Maldon Business Networking Group until their reconvening on 2nd September 2011 at the OAKhouse, High Street, Maldon.
A typical Italian Buffet was served.
The sponsors of the evening were Lota Training, Market Hill, Maldon. Wendy Twydell explained how their company could help others by providing apprentices.
A business card draw for a bottle of bubbly was won by Wayne Collier and 5 free driving lessons were won by John Fitt.
The evening ended with a variety of songs by a local singer, Aiesha Pease.
Aiesha Pease has been involved in performing arts since the age of 2 and a half when she started dance lessons for Tap, Jazz, Modern and Ballet. When she was 10, she became interested in drama and singing and started at an amateur dramatics group. At the age of 12, she started taking part in small singing competitions. It was at the Plume School, Maldon that she got involved in every part of performing arts . She took dance, music, media studies and drama at GCSE and A-level subjects.
She also took part in a singing competition and out of 1500 people she won it, winning a UK tour with 'Navi ' (the world’s number 1 Michael Jackson impersonator) and the chance to record a debut single.
She also auditioned for Britain's Got Talent and managed to get to the boot camp stage. She is currently at the boot camp stage of the X-factor.
She is currently trying to raise the money to go to the performing arts school, 'Urdang Academy'. Out of the 2500 people that had auditioned for the academy she got a place on the 1 year foundation course but there are no scholarships or public funding for this course. Her own Bank, Barclays, were not able to help with a Barclays Professional and Career Development Loan
Her dream is if she manages to fund this course and undertake the year at Urdang Academy, she stands a very good chance of getting work in West End Theatre.
